About Me
I live in North Yorkshire and have been researching my roots in Lancashire, Yorkshire and most particularly Orkney since early 2000. Family names include Hay, Simpson, Sutherland and Barnet (the largest population of Orkney Barnet's having lived on Flotta). Main family houses include Whome, Pan, Bu (or Bow), The Cottage and Bayview. Aspirations, would love to trace the Barnet back to the first Barnet ever to live in Orkney. Would also like to find an ancient Flotta line through one or another of my family lines. Have got in contact with some some fantastic cousins through my research and learnt lots from them. Never actually visited Flotta myself but one of these days I'd love to. Other interests include growing bonsai, designing cards and going for walks when I can manage it. I also love going on holiday!
